Have you ever felt like you’re on the outside looking in?
Sometimes it’s not always a bad thing. Sometimes it can be helpful, just to watch what’s going on in the world around us. In fact, mindful activity is essentially that. To observe what’s really happening, to experience it and then let it go.
Here’s something you can try:
Try sitting quietly for a moment and notice all the thoughts, sensations and feelings that arise. Every time you notice you’re feeling or thinking something, give it a label. ‘That’s thinking’. ‘That’s a feeling’. Try not to get hooked in to what the thoughts or feelings are about, or where they come from. Just notice, accept and then go back to sitting quietly.
